Canadian born violinist, Robin-Lynn Braun de Sierra began her musical studies at age five at the Suzuki String School with Martha Kaliniak.
Winner of the 1994 Ontario Youth Competition, she made her debut at the Centre In the Square Raffi Armenian Theatre. In 1998 she was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Ms. Braun de Sierra has appeared as soloist with the Winnipeg Symphony, Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Mississauga Symphony, Sarnia Symphony, West Coast Symphony and has given recitals throughout Canada, USA, Brazil, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
Ms. Braun de Sierra has been invited to several prestigious summer music festivals. Recently she participated in the 2011 International Festival de Musique in (Belgium), other festivals include Orford Music festival (Quebec), American Institute of Musical Studies (Graz, Austria,) The National Academy Orchestra (Ontario), The Festival of the Sound (Ontario), International Music Festival (Morelia, Mexico), European Music Festival (Hamburg, Germany), Orvieto Musica Chamber Festival (Italy), QuartetFest (Ontario), Canadian Opera Company 2006 Wagner Ring Cycle (Ontario).
Ms. Braun de Sierra has given master classes at the Yewon Arts School in Seoul, Korea, the Universidade Federal Do Rio Grande Do Sul Instituto des Artes in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Universidade Federal de Morelia, Mexico, Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of British Columbia. She has performed in Master Classes around the world for violin protégés as, James Ehnes, Mauricio Fuks, Jamie Laredo, Cho-Liang Lin, Martin Chalifour and Aaron Rosan.
Ms. Braun de Sierra completed with Honors a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University where she was a student of Jerzy Kaplanek and a Masters of Music degree at Indiana University where she was a student of Mimi Zweig. Ms.Braun de Sierra held a position of Assistant Instructor of Violin at Indiana University and taught for two years for the Summer String Academy Program.
Immediately following her studies in the States, Ms. Braun de Sierra became a member of the KW Symphony for the 03/04 Season during which that season she won her current job as Section First Violin of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
Mrs. Braun de Sierra plays on a 1767 Michael Deconet Violin generously gifted by an anonymous donor in 2011.
