Q: What time does the box office open before the concert?
A: Box offices at the Orpheum and Chan Centre open two hours prior to concert time – box offices at every other venue open 1 hour prior to concert time.
Q: Where and when do I pick-up my pre-ordered tickets before concert time?
A: Pre-ordered or Will Call tickets are available at the venue box office according to the timing mentioned above.
Q: How do I qualify for group/student/senior rates?
A: Group rates are available for 10 or more people. Students must be in full-time attendance at an educational institution, and in the case of post secondary students, must possess a valid current student card. Individuals must be 65 years of age to qualify for the senior's discount.
Q: Does a small baby require a ticket?
A: Yes, babies do require a ticket. Please call VSO Customer Service for details: 604.876.3434
Q: Can I exchange tickets once I purchase them?
A: VSO Subscribers (series package holders) may exchange tickets, with a few restrictions, in advance of the performance date by at least 24 hours – Special Concerts and Festival performances may not be exchanged into or out of, and price upgrades are in effect where applicable. All single-ticket purchases are final, including All-Access Pass, Symphony Sampler, and Flex Pass, and not generally able to be exchanged out of. PLEASE NOTE that for all customers refunds are only given under exceptional circumstances, all attendant fees for these exceptions are non-negotiable.
Q: Is there a dress code at Symphony concerts?
A: No there is not, unless the concert is a gala special event. Casual attire is acceptable within the limits of cleanliness and propriety. Getting all gussied up for a big night out with that special someone can be great fun!
Q: How long is a Symphony concert?
A: Most VSO concerts are approximately 2 hours long, including a twenty minute intermission.
Q: What refreshments are available?
A: The theatre concession offers a selection of special coffees, alcoholic beverages, cold drinks and candies.
Q: Are cameras and recording devices allowed in the theatre?

Q: How old should children be to attend a Symphony concert?
A: Except for Kid's Koncerts and Tiny Tots, it is not recommended to take children under six years of age to Symphony concerts.
Q: Are there many parking options around the venues?
A: Parking is free to ticketholders at the Bell Performing Arts Centre and Centennial Theatre. There is no designated parking for the Orpheum, but there are multiple parking options within a two block radius of the theatre. Click below for more downtown Vancouver parking options.
Q: When and where are the pre-concert talks?
A: Pre-concert talks, before all Masterworks Gold and Masterworks Diamond concerts, are at 7:05pm in the main auditorium of the Orpheum Theatre.
Q: What if I arrive late at the theatre?
A: Most venues have a latecomers policy that allows latecomers to be seated at an appropriate break in the music, chosen by the conductor, at the back of the theatre. Latecomers can then move to their originally purchased seats after intermission.
