Where your money goes

The Vancouver Symphony relies on the support of individuals and corporations to make classical music accessible to everyone in our community. Guided by visionary leadership and strong governance the VSO has established itself as a highly respected and valued cultural institution. Our record of fiscal responsibility has been solidified by seven consecutive years of small surpluses. This achievement has made possible the reduction of our accumulated deficit, allowing us to weather economic difficulties and meet the changing needs of our community. Join our winning team and make a donation today!

Donations are always allocated to where they will make the most impact:

Your investment in the VSO supports:

High-Quality Performances:

The VSO brings prestige to our city, province and country through our exceptional performances of classical and popular music. Annually, audiences of over 200,000 people are rewarded with world-class music expertly interpreted by our gifted musicians. Providing these experiences remains at the forefront of our priorities; 83% of our annual revenue goes directly to putting music on the stage.

Renowned Education Programs:

The VSO reaches over 50,000 children annually by means of 11 different education initiatives from infant programs to post-secondary activities.

Community Programs and Outreach:

The VSO believes that the gift of classical music should be accessible to everyone in our community. Our Charitable Organization Assistance Program supports numerous not-for-profit organizations through donations of tickets for use in fundraising activities and for distribution to children and adults who otherwise would not be able to attend a live symphony performance. In addition, the VSO regularly goes on the road and brings performances to all corners of Metro Vancouver, ensuring that the experience of classical music is far reaching.

Nurturing of Canadian Talent:

The VSO aims to cultivate and support emerging local musicians, conductors and composers as they embark on their careers in classical music. Whether it be studying with a VSO musician, attending a masterclass with one of our guest artists or making a professional debut with a world class orchestra, Canadian artists receive the preparation they need to succeed.
