VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING & SALES

The Vice President, Marketing & Sales (Vice President) reports directly to the President and is a key member of the senior management team. The Vice President is responsible for all strategic and tactical elements of the marketing and sales efforts of the VSO and VSO School of Music, including developing and implementing new strategies for revenue and audience growth, creating and executing on an annual marketing plan, and ensuring all marketing and sales objectives are met. The Vice President plans advertising activities across multiple platforms including digital, social media, print, radio, television, and others, in addition to overseeing direct mail and e-mail programs. The Vice President leads public and media relations, promotions, and campaigns in support of the strategic goals of the organization. They recommend pricing strategies and supervise relationships with consultants in telemarketing, design/branding, ticketing, and client services.

VSO LEARNING AND INTEGRATIVE STRATEGIES

The Vice President, VSO Learning and Integrative Strategies will be a strategic thinker and leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of education, community programs, and the VSO School of Music. Reporting to the President and CEO and working closely with the Music Director and other senior leadership team, the VP will be the senior music educator who will ensure that educational and learning programs are integrated into a comprehensive approach that complements and leverages the artistic strengths of the VSO. The VP will evaluate, enhance, and expand education programs; foster deep relationships with educators; offer programs of the highest quality and variety; build programs that provide an unparalleled learning experience; enhance participation in music; and connect the VSO to communities in Greater Vancouver and beyond.

Only Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents are eligible for our national audition.

These vacancies for Principal Horn & Third Horn/Assistant Principal Horn are tenure track. Employment with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will begin at a mutually agreeable date during the 2021-2022 season, or at the latest in September 2022 for the start of the 2022-2023 Season.

The VSO will hold and international audition in Fall 2022 if no candidate is offered either position from our national audition.
