Adrian Chui was born in Hong Kong. He was appointed Assistant Concertmaster of Hong Kong Philharmonic at the age of 17, becoming the youngest person were appointed to that position, In 1977 he repeated his performance if Butterfly Lovers concerto as soloist with the Orchestra at the Hong Kong Arts Festival.
Mr Chui studied violin with Mr. Lim Kek Tiang in Hong-Kong and later with Hon. Gwen Thompson in Vancouver. In 1979 by invitation of the Chinese Culture Centre in Vancouver, Mr. Chui appeared as a Guest soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performing the Butterfly Lovers violin concerto. He also played for various none profit organizations such as CCM and churches. He also conducts a private studio for violin students of all ages.
