Bio

Andrew Mee was thrilled to join the horn section of the Vancouver Symphony in 2012. He has also worked with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia and the Victoria Symphony. He can be heard on numerous commercial recordings and film soundtracks.

Andrew has participated in several music festivals, including the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, The Banff Centre Masterclass, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. He has a Master's Degree from Yale University and a Bachelor's Degree from the New England Conservatory. His principal teachers were Harcus Hennigar, James Sommerville and William Purvis.

In addition to performing, Andrew enjoys teaching at the Vancouver Symphony's School of Music and the Vancouver Academy of Music. Rain or shine, Andrew commutes by bicycle with his horn on his back, and loves snowboarding and cross-country skiing on the North Shore and in Whistler.
