Bio
Dutch conductor Arthur Arnold is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Pacific Region International Summer Music Association (PRISMA). Currently celebrating its 12th season, the annual PRISMA Festival & Academy takes place in Powell River, BC, featuring 50 musical events and over 5,000 attendees. Since its inception, PRISMA has had a fruitful artistic collaboration with the Tla’amin Nation that has resulted in many performances and cross-cultural bridges.
Arnold was also the Music Director of The Moscow Symphony Orchestra from 2012 to 2022, a collaboration that began in 2001 and resulted in many return concerts at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and other international stages. Furthermore, Arnold is the driving force behind the Mosolov Project, inspired by his discovery of manuscripts of the music of oppressed Soviet composer Alexander Mosolov. Arnold’s recording of Mosolov's Fifth Symphony and Harp Concerto with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra won the second prize in the prestigious Russian competition “Pure Sound.”
