Bio

Chelsea Rose Winsby is an award-winning singer, actor, musician and songwriter. She studied vocal performance at the University of Victoria, and the musical theatre program at The Canadian College of Performing Arts. Chelsea toured Eastern Europe, the western United States and Mexico as a featured soloist with the University of Victoria chamber choir.

Favourite theatre credits include: Elsa in Disney’s Frozen, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Maria in The Sound of Music, Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol, REDPATCH, and You’re Just a Place That I Know at The Arts Club Theatre. Some Kinda Fun! and I Think I’m Fallin’ at The Belfry Theatre in Victoria, BC.  Rosalind in As You Like It at Bard on the Beach, Theatre Calgary and The Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, and Portia in Julius Caesar at Bard on the Beach.  Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Gateway Theatre.  Clan Mother in Les Filles Du Roi at The Cultch with Urban Ink.  Janet/Grace in Only Drunks and Children Tell the Truth at The Firehall Arts Centre.  Rizzo in Grease, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz with The Victoria Operatic Society.

In film, Chelsea Rose Winsby is a featured actor in the multi award-winning indie film Les Filles Du Roi. She played Sasq’ets in the children’s film Th’owxiya, and the title role in the indie film Kwi’ah. Chelsea is also the vocalist and songwriter of Vancouver symphonic metal band Ophelia Falling. Her music is featured in the award-winning feature film The Curse of Willow Song.

Chelsea is honoured, and grateful to be a part of Tea and Trumpets, and for the opportunity to perform such beloved, classical musical theatre with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
