The Chamber Orchestra of China National Symphony Orchestra (CNSO) (hereinafter referred to as "the Orchestra") is one of the most outstanding chamber music ensembles in China. It was initiated and established by a group of outstanding musicians of China National Symphony Orchestra and is committed to creating and bringing about extraordinary experiences in chamber music through the superb artistic excellence and rigorous cooperation of its members.

The Orchestra delivers more than 40 performances a year. It has launched "CNSO Chamber Music" series in Beijing Concert Hall, where more than 20 colorful chamber music concerts are staged each year. This series is an important part of CNSO's music season. Moreover, since its inception, the Orchestra has been invited by all the major music stages both at home and abroad, including Beijing Concert Hall, National Centre for the Performing Arts, Kunsthaus Zürich (Switzerland), Auditorio Nacional de Música (Spain), Wellington Opera House (New Zealand), Ras Al Khaimah Cultural Development Centre (UAE), Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Santa Cecilia Hall (Italy), etc. In addition, the Orchestra has served as "cultural diplomatic envoy" at various formal state events, and has performed for Chinese and foreign heads of state, including leaders of the United States, Germany, Austria, France, Russia, Italy, etc. To build cultural bridges and promote mutual learning between peoples, the Orchestra, powered by its members' superb skills, has given wonderful interpretations of a diverse range of musical works and received wide international recognition.

The Orchestra covers extensive forms of performance such as string quartets, woodwind quintets, piano trios, brass ensembles, small symphonies and other chamber music combinations. In cooperation with vocalists, the Orchestra also creates a stage for vocal instrumental chamber music. The core repertoire includes all the periods from the Baroque era to the present. The Orchestra embraces classical masterpieces, as well as modern and contemporary music, and is commissioned new works each year.

The members of the Orchestra are all state-level musicians, and their decades of artistic practice has endowed the Orchestra with meticulous sensitivity and precise balance. Through close cooperation with many well-known musicians from China and overseas, the Orchestra broadens its musical vision and draws artistic inspiration constantly.

To offer diverse music to the public, the Orchestra actively participates in public welfare performances and music education, adopting new approaches like on-the-spot explanations, live-streaming concerts and so on. In the future, it will support the cultivation and growth of young musicians through talent training programs, academic seminars, and masterclasses in cooperation with schools and public welfare organizations. The Orchestra will help nurture a new generation of musicians and audiences with its promotion and popularization of classical music.
