Armenian-Canadian soprano Diana Agasian is a rising star on the international operatic scene. A graduate of The Glenn Gould School of Music, Diana has sung on some of Canada's most prestigious classical stages, including the Orpheum Theatre and Koerner Hall. Most recently, she presented the roles of the Woman and Siren in Handel’s Rinaldo, directed by Tom Diamond (COC) and Ivars Taurins (Tafelmusik). Diana is an alumna of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music, where she studied with Diane King. Through the VSO, she received many career-building opportunities, from masterclasses with renowned Canadian opera stars to performances at the BC Parliament building and at televised NHL games. Diana is currently based in Montreal and is under the vocal tutelage of the Vienna State Opera’s Olivera Miljakovic, a soprano of international repute whose many collaborators have included Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, and Giuseppe di Stefano. Diana looks forward to coming home to the VSO this December for the ‘Traditional Christmas’ concert series!
