Bio

Originally from Ellicott City, Maryland, bass trombonist Griffin Cutaiar is currently serving as acting bass trombone for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in the 2024-2025 season. He is also pursuing his master’s degree at the Juilliard School under the guidance of John Rojak.

Griffin earned his bachelor’s degree from Juilliard, where he studied with Blair Bollinger, and has performed with the Jacksonville Symphony and Princeton Symphony Orchestra, among others.

He has spent summers in Colorado as a fellow at both the Colorado College Summer Music Festival and the National Repertory Orchestra. Griffin can also be heard on the Juilliard Trombone Choir's album Holiday Classics, directed by Joseph Alessi.
