Bio
Sarah Richardson is a Canadian Soprano born and raised in Port Moody, British Columbia. She is an alumna of the VSO School of Music under the direction of Diane King. Sarah recently completed her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Toronto, studying under Elizabeth McDonald. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Opera Performance at the University of British Columbia under the tutelage of Nancy Hermiston. In the Summer of 2023, Sarah was a Young Artist at Songfest in San Francisco, where she participated in Masterclasses led by Graham Johnson, Martin Katz, and Libby Larson. In July of 2024, Sarah made her operatic debut with Summer Opera Lyric Theatre, where she performed the title role of Mimì in Puccini's La Bohème. This coming January, UBC Opera is presenting Kurt Weill's Street Scene, where she will perform the role of Rose Maurrant. Sarah looks forward to performing with the VSO as part of Traditional Christmas!
