Charles Inkman, Cello

Charles began studying piano at age 3 and cello at age 8. His teachers included Eleanor Patch (Harkness), Sydney Keates, Jack Mendelsohn and Eric Wilson. He had early training with the Vancouver and Delta Youth Orchestras and spent summers with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Chamber music training included spring and summer sessions at the Banff Centre. After receiving his undergraduate degree from UBC, Charles played as an extra with the VSO and won a section chair shortly afterwards. In addition to his work with the VSO Charles plays cello with the classical crossover group Joe Trio, touring nationally and internationally. He is the Music Director of the North Shore Chamber Orchestra and performs with touring Broadway shows and other visiting guest artists.
