West Side Story Symphonic Dances
Shall we dance? Maestra Alondra de la Parra’s program will have you moving in your seat, featuring Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. Award-winning choreographer and dancer, Caleb Teicher joins the VSO to perform Thomas Enhco’s dizzying Tap Concerto. Carlos Simon’s Four Black American Dances highlight how dance has always been at the heart of social gatherings within Black American communities. Ginastera’s dances from his ballet Estancia portray the struggles and passions of Argentine ranch life.
Please Note: The Classical Afterworks concert on Friday night does not have an intermission.
