Celebrate the opening of our 2026/27 season with Maestro Tausk, the musicians of the VSO and international piano sensation, Hayato Sumino, as they perform Chopin’s poetic and sparkling Piano Concerto No. 1. From its opening brass fanfare, Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony is a high-stakes battle against Fate itself, full of drama and resilience. Commissioned for the late Maestro Tovey’s inaugural concert in 2000, Kelly-Marie Murphy’s A Thousand Natural Shocks channels the simultaneous fear and thrill of embarking on a new experience.
