Christopher Gaze hosts a Spanish-themed concert shining a spotlight on Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen, the ill-fated love story of the fiery gypsy Carmen and the hapless soldier Don José. The orchestra will be playing two orchestral suites drawn from the opera. Suite no. 1 encompasses the preludes and entr’actes – including the lively Spanish Aragonaise dance, the melodic Séguedille, and the spirited march Les dragons d’Alcala – and the Suite no. 2 treats us to an orchestral rendition of the much-beloved Habanera, the boisterous Toreador Song and the energetic Danse bohème.
This concert also includes Chabrier’s Espana, De Falla’s El Amor Brujo, and many more beautiful Spanish pieces. Get your tickets now while seats remain!
