December 22, 1808 has been called the “most remarkable” night of Beethoven’s career. An astounding four-hour concert saw the premières of both the 5th and 6th Symphonies, the Choral Fantasy and his Piano Concerto No. 4 along with an improvised piano fantasy — Beethoven conducting and playing all of it. The Pastorale is Beethoven’s portrait of nature.

This concert is part of Beethovenfest and Symphony Sundays.

Please note: due to the recent announcement of the BC Provincial Health Officer banning gatherings of over 250 people, we regret to announce that this performance is cancelled.
