The VSO regularly goes “on the road” performing in all corners of Metro Vancouver, including free public concerts in Burnaby and Whistler, ensuring that the experience of classical music is far reaching. And, numerous schools and charitable organizations in our community receive donations of concert tickets for use in fundraising activities and for distribution to children and adults from underserved communities who otherwise would not be able to attend a live symphony performance.

Main - Education Jean Coulthard

The Jean Coulthard Readings, named after one of BC’s most beloved composers, provides emerging BC composers with an invaluable opportunity to have their work performed and critiqued by a professional Orchestra.

The VSO cultivates and supports emerging Canadian musicians, conductors and composers as they embark on their careers in classical music. Whether it be in residency at the VSO, special commissions or in performance.
