On Saturday, Oct. 28, President & CEO of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) and VSO School of Music, Angela Elster, was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). It is fitting that I receive this award here in Vancouver, where the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the VSO School of Music have invited me to lead the VSO’s deep commitment to harness the beauty and transformative power of music. Two progressive and innovative Canadian arts organizations – it doesn’t get better than that.”
“The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) is thrilled to award Angela Elster an Honorary Fellowship – the RCM’s highest honour which recognizes the achievements of those who have made irreplaceable contributions to the cultural life of Canada and beyond,” says Alex Brose, President & CEO of the RCM. “Angela’s fearless leadership and infectious enthusiasm has left an indelible print on the Canadian arts scene over the past four decades, including over 32 years at the RCM.
