Gillian Hunter-Gibbs is a musician, educator and arts administrator with 20 years of experience working with orchestras, choirs, musicians and teachers to bring classical music to the broadest possible audiences. Born and raised in Vancouver, Gillian is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (BMus in voice and violin) and the University of Cambridge (MPhil in Music Education Research). After living and working in the U.K. for over a decade, Gillian returned to her hometown to work at the VSO School of Music, teaching many of the School’s youngest budding musicians, and is now Executive Director of the Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs. Through all she does, Gillian remains passionate about removing barriers to access high quality music performance and educational experiences. Gillian plays violin and viola and sings to anyone who will listen, usually her two children, 7-year-old Ellie and 5-year-old Myles.
