VSO Ticketing Policies
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra does not sell tickets through third party websites, except in the case of vendors who control their own inventory and are authorized to sell tickets on behalf of the VSO, including but not limited to: The Chan Centre at UBC, the Anvil Centre, and the Vancouver Playhouse. If your tickets are purchased through unauthorized third party sites then they may be invalid and entry could be refused.
Refunds / Exchanges
The VSO has a no refund policy on all tickets purchased. Only in the case of concert cancellation or a major artist change can refunds be discussed.
Current VSO subscribers can exchange tickets within the regular season at no extra cost. Only if seats are upgraded into higher sections or higher priced concerts would any amount be owed.
Please note: subscription tickets cannot be exchanged into concerts already belonging to the original subscription, nor can they be exchanged for concerts classified as “Specials.”
Single ticket buyers can request exchanges for a fee of $5 per ticket. This applies to different dates of the same concert as well.
Exchanges cannot be made on tickets purchased at promotional rates.
In certain cases, credit may be offered for tickets that cannot be used. Please contact VSO Customer Service for more information.
In certain cases, seat location changes can be facilitated at no extra cost. If the seat is moved into a higher price level, the upgrade must of course be paid.
Other Policies
The ticketholder has the right to transfer their ticket(s) to anyone they’d like. Those accepting transferred tickets should be wary of the source they are accepting from.
The VSO has introduced a new app to make ticket transfers easy. When you have your tickets open in the app, simply press the “Transfer Tickets” button in the bottom right corner, then enter the email address of the intended recipient.
In the case of lost tickets, please contact VSO Customer Service to have your tickets re-printed and re-sent. Tickets can be re-printed for no extra cost.
NOTE: Only the original ticket purchaser may request that tickets be re-printed and re-sent. If you have lost tickets that were gifted to you, please get in touch with the person who bought them, and have them contact the VSO.
Account information can be updated once you have logged in on the VSO website. If you would like assistance making an update, or would like your account deactivated, merged, etc, please contact VSO Customer Service.
Only the account holder may request that changes be made to their account. If the account holder would like to give someone else access to their account and allow someone else to make changes, the VSO asks that the account holder please contact us to give us the name of this third party.
Group rates are available for 10 or more people attending the same performance. Please contact VSO Customer Service for more information.
A person under the age of 6 months is considered a baby. For fire safety reasons, all babies require tickets to attend VSO events, even if the baby will not be taking up a seat. Please call VSO Customer Service for details: 604.876.3434
All VSO concerts are priced dynamically, meaning prices may change depending on how a performance is selling.
If tickets were originally purchased on a date prior to a price change, ticket exchanges will honour the original price paid. That said, exchange fees and upgrades may still be owed.
Discounts only apply to the Adult or “Full” rates, and discounts cannot be combined. In other words, a ticket that has already received Senior or Student discounting cannot be discounted further.
Unless otherwise specified, discounts do not apply to Dress Circle seats at the Orpheum.
NOTE: Discounts are not automatically applied to orders. If your account status grants you discounts, or if you’ve entered a valid promo code, this discounted rate will still need to be selected from the dropdown options.
VSO Gift Certificates are available for purchase. Please see this page of our website, or contact VSO Customer Service for more information.
Gift Certificates can be purchased at any denomination, and they do not expire. Gift Certificates can be redeemed both online and in-person, or over the phone.
Government-issued photo ID must be presented at venue box offices for ticket pick up. If tickets were purchased at the student discounted rate, student ID must be presented.
