Bio

Krisztina Szabó is highly sought in both North America and Europe. For her performances of Ottavia in L'incoronazione di Poppea, the critic of the Chicago Tribune wrote, "Krisztina Szabó stole every scene with her powerful, mahogany voice and deeply poignant immersion in the empress' plight."

The critic of the New York Times praised her Lincoln Center debut as Dorabella in Così fan tutte as "clear, strong, stately and an endearingly vulnerable Dorabella."

In the summer of 2019, Ms. Szabó sang Mozart’s Mass in C Minor with Cleveland Orchestra at the Blossom Music Festival. Her engagements in the 2019-20 season include St. John Passion with Tafelmusik; Beethoven’s Mass in C Major with Kansas City Symphony; Messiah with Portland Baroque Orchestra and Early Music Vancouver; Bach’s Mass in B Minor with Music of the Baroque; and Gertrude in Hänsel und Gretel with Canadian Opera Company.

Ms. Szabó’s recent engagements include her Royal Opera House, Covent Garden debut in George Benjamin’s Lessons in Love and Violence, and performances with Mahler Chamber Orchestra in Berlin and Amsterdam.
