Tchaikovsky’s glittering Swan Lake is the epitome of classical romance, beloved the world over for its dramatic love story. Horn master Stefan Dohr represents his instrument second to none and is widely considered to be one of the world’s great horn players, nay, instrumentalists. He joins the VSO in Strauss’ virtuosic Till Eulenspiegel and takes the solo, specifically composed for him, in Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa’s contemplative horn concerto, Moment of Blossoming.
