The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Vancouver Park Board are pleased to present the second annual Symphony at Sunset, a free, open-air concert taking place on the large lawn at Sunset Beach. Conducted by VSO Music Director Otto Tausk, Symphony at Sunset includes something for everyone, from classical favourites to film score hits.
There will be food trucks on site for the event, and the public are encouraged to bring a picnic, a blanket and to make an evening of it at Sunset Beach Park. Concertgoers are asked to bring low chairs so as not to obstruct the view of other audience members.
The VPB and VSO estimate that more than 14,000 people will attend Symphony At Sunset. We encourage attendees to walk, bike, or take public transportation to the Symphony at Sunset. The Translink Trip Planner will assist you, step by step, in finding most efficient way to get you to and from Sunset Beach Park.
False Creek Ferries has agreed to extend their service hours to help get concertgoers home. Ferries to all stops east of the Sunset Beach dock (Aquatic Centre) will operate until 10:15 pm, every 7 minutes. In addition, there will be additional 5 minute service to Granville Island until 10:30 pm.
